Where to go today

Not a forecast for everyone. Yours.

Every morning, MushScout compares today's conditions to those of your past finds—same place, same time of year—and ranks your spots by probability. It also learns from failed outings: they're the ones that teach you when to stay home.

It always tells you why

Never just a number: next to it you find the day it resembles and what you found there.

The best spot is free

With the real number, not a blurry screenshot. With Premium you unlock all the others and notifications.

The more you go out, the less it errs

At first, he only knows the local weather. After a few outings, he'll begin to know your woods.

The model learns only from your data: no shared maps, no other people's diaries. And it works for sixteen species — porcini, chanterelles, Caesar's mushrooms, morels, honey fungus and others — each with its own forecast.

Go higher in altitude

Not just when. But also where.

If your woods are all at 500 meters, in August the app would give you 14 out of 100 and you'd close the door convinced it wasn't a good day. But a quarter of an hour's drive, 600 meters higher, the exact same day would be 46. Now it tells you.

Porcini mushrooms descend the mountain

About six hundred meters per month, from August to November. In August only one find in ten is below 900 meters: the expert mushroom hunter knows this and climbs higher.

Speaks only when necessary

It is silent in the plains. And it also stays silent when your spots are already good. It never sends you more than twenty-five kilometers away.

Measured, not estimated

The curve comes from hundreds of actual Italian finds, not from a book. And it's not just the altitude that matters: the season for each species also shifts with latitude, so the dates aren't the same in Sicily and Trentino. It's still an indication of where to aim, not a certainty.
Features

Everything for mushroom hunting, in your pocket.

Tools that work together — from GPS tracking to private spots, to predictions on your finds.

◉ WHERE TO GO TODAY · The heart of MushScout

Your spots, and when to return

Save every location with photos and species. MushScout compares today's weather with your past finds and tells you where to return. No one sees the coordinates, not even your friends in challenges.
GPS

Track every outing

Automatic GPS tracking with duration, distance and elevation gain, even with screen off and phone in pocket. If the signal drops the track breaks instead of drawing a straight line through forest you didn't cover.
AI

Identification, if you want it

Photograph a mushroom and get a species suggestion: three per day free, and your altitude helps narrow it down. You're not required to use it: you can type the name by hand. Always verify with an expert.
NO SIGNAL

Return to the car

An arrow and the distance to the parking lot, even where there's no signal. Download the maps before you leave and use them offline.
How it works

From the first step to next throw, in 4 moves.

01

Go out and track

Tap "Start Search" and put your phone away. The app will do the rest.
02

Mark what you find

Pin, photo, species and quantity. And if you come back empty-handed, mark it: that counts too.
03

The app learns

It crosses each outing with the weather of that day and learns what works in your places.
04

It tells you when to come back

When the right conditions return, the app will let you know. The best spot is free.
The twelve-day forecast

From when they could grow.

Not the weather for the next twelve days: how much it's worth searching that mushroom in your forest, today and in the next eleven days. A curve for each species and location, showing when they could emerge. No other mushroom app does this—and you can see your best spot for free.

Because mushrooms don't grow by chance: they grow when the forest is ready. But weather that's the same across the entire province isn't enough: your places need your history. Find out how

Weather data Open-Meteo, CC BY 4.0 license.

And if it's wrong, you correct it

The model reads a cell that's kilometers wide: if it was different for you, tell it. Choose the day, say how much rain actually fell, and what you say beats the model — the score for that place takes it into account immediately.
Satellite map

Your route, on real forest.

From the satellite you recognize chestnut and beech forests before you even leave. With the topographic map you read altitudes and slopes, with CAI trails you find the way. You download the areas before you go out and they work where there's no signal.

Real-time GPS tracking

Route, distance and stages are drawn as you explore.

My steps

A switch and all your exits appear at once, faded. Where there's no line, you've never beaten that forest. The last five are free.

Return to the car

Arrow and distance to the parking lot, even without signal.
SOS

SOS Button

Displays exact coordinates and notifies emergency contacts. Always free.
The diary that learns

Every mushroom outing becomes a forecast.

Every time you head out, the app saves your route, duration, elevation gain, and the finds you make along the way—including photos, species, and quantities. It then uses all this to determine when it's best to return. Even failed outings matter: they're what teach the app when to stay home.

📜

Medals and objectives

Your mushroom hunter statistics

The more you go out, the more the app will help you knows you.

At first, it's a blank notebook. Then, after each outing, it becomes your memory of the forest: how many porcini mushrooms and how many chanterelles, which months you perform best in, what weather conditions you've had to fill your basket in. These are the same data the app uses to tell you. when to come back.

They build themselves as you record your outings and finds, and in the app you'll find them in the Diary. The summary is free; with Premium you get the winning pattern, the best outings with the weather from the previous days, the records, and the year-over-year comparison.

Your season

A year in the forest, from relive.

At the end of the season, MushScout collects everything you've experienced in the woods: photos of your finds in a story to browse, the year's numbers, memorable moments, and the month-by-month progress. A story to reread and send to those you're mushroom hunting with: you share the story, not the locations.

The photo story

All the season's finds with photos, to scroll through one after the other.

Moments of the year

First find, best day, favorite species: your memories.

Free, always yours

No subscription to review your season, now and in ten years.
It happened today

The forest you remember.

Every day, MushScout reminds you of what you found on this date in years past: your first autumn outing, those three porcini mushrooms in the beech forest. It's not just nostalgia: if they were there last year, around this time, maybe it's time to go back.

It appears only when you have memories from those years. Free, and always private.

Milestones

Every outing makes you grow.

Level up with every find and unlock badges for your milestones: first outing, first species, kilometers covered. Your profile tells your journey as a forager, outing by outing.

Domande frequenti

Inizia oggi.
A settembre avrà già imparato i tuoi boschi.

Gratis su Google Play. Per guardarla non serve nemmeno registrarsi. Solo Android, per ora.
