The diary and calendar are waiting for you to open them. Notifications don't: they arrive, and they are the only part of the app that works even when the phone remains in your pocket. This is why they're also the easiest part to mess up — all it takes is three useless alerts in a row and one disables them forever.
What alerts you, and when

1. «The conditions are excellent»
«Porcini: excellent condition! 90/100 today at Faggeta di Sotto.»
It's the basic warning, and it's also there in the free plan. He doesn't say that conditions are good in the province: he says they are good there, in the forest that you saved, for one of the mushrooms you follow.
It starts when the score goes over 70, and at most once every six days. In the free plan it concerns a forest, the one where you go most often; with Premium everyone you keep an eye on.
2. «It's time» · Premium
«Faggeta di Sotto: it's time! 82% like on September 12, 2024, when you found 5 porcini mushrooms there.»
Questo è un avviso diverso, ed è il più forte di tutti: non guarda una soglia, guarda tea. He says that today, in that woods, the conditions resemble those of a day when you actually found something there — and he reminds you what day it was and what you took.
For it to arrive you need at least two fruitful outings in quel posto: senza, l’app non ha un termine di paragone e sta zitta. È Premium.
It is also the practical difference between the two plans: the first warning tells you that the time is the right one, the second that the time is the right one for that forest of yours.
3. The storm over your forest · Premium

This isn't about mushrooms: it's about water, that is, the trigger. Arrives a week or two Before that there is something to harvest, and that is the real advantage: whoever looks at the general weather sees it raining on half the region, you see it raining on your forest.
It's the moment when it's worth marking the day on the calendar, not leaving.
4. Il venerdì sera · Premium
Una volta a settimana, il venerdì, l’app ti dice quante uscite ci sono state intorno ai boschi che tieni d’occhio, e quante hanno trovato la specie che segui. Non è una previsione: sono cose già successe, ed è il modo più diretto per capire se la stagione è partita davvero o se è solo il meteo a dirlo.
Due cose da sapere. Non vedi il posto di nessuno: vedi un numero, intorno a posti che sono già tuoi. E se in giro non è passato nessuno, non arriva niente — una notifica che dice «nessuno» sarebbe una notifica buttata.
5. Il piano della settimana
Il giovedì, a chi in tutta la settimana non ha ricevuto niente, arriva il punteggio del suo bosco migliore. È l’unica notifica che parla quando non succede niente, e serve a questo: sapere che la settimana è stata quella che era, invece di chiedersi se l’app si è rotta. Va a tutti, piano gratuito compreso.
And the reminders of the season
«The nails usually go in two weeks.» They don't concern a specific forest: they help you avoid being late on a mushroom you weren't thinking about, and they are especially useful for those who follow a few species.
Because few arrive
At most one warning every six days. It is a limit set on purpose, and it is not prudence: the score of a forest moves on average by two points per day, so an app that notified every change would write the same thing every day. After a week no one would read it anymore, and when the important one arrived it would end up in the pile.
In practice, there is only one rule: it is written only when a decision changes.

There is a particular case, and it is the most useful of all: when waiting two days really changes the day. Then the app tells you with numbers, instead of letting you choose by nose between Saturday and next week.

From notification to reminder
A notice read in the mail queue is forgotten in ten minutes. This is why the good window can be put in the diary with a touch: it becomes an appointment on the phone, with an alarm clock the night before. It is a Premium function, and is designed for those who decide on trips a few days in advance.
Which forests are monitored
Not all the places you saved, but the ones you choose to keep an eye on: four in the free plan, tutti i tuoi con Premium.
A clarification that is worth making, because they are two different numbers: the woods look at you there are also four free ones, but the "excellent conditions" notification in the free plan goes up only one, the one where you go most often. You see the other three when you open the app; it's the coming to look for you that is limited.
If you have twenty places in your diary, choose the four where you would actually go this month. The others stay where they are and continue to have their score when you open them.
What you will never receive
No warning will tell you that "there are mushrooms" in a certain forest, because the app doesn't know it and nobody knows it. And no alert will concern anyone else's places: the places do not leave the phone of the person who saved them, not even towards friends.
If you don't get anything
Three things to check, in this order:
- you have at least one place saved and put among those to keep an eye on;
- the mushrooms you follow are in season: in January, for porcini mushrooms, silence is normal;
- Android has permission to show app notifications, and power saving isn't blocking it.
Frequently asked questions
How often do notifications arrive?
At most one every six days. In periods when nothing happens, none arrives, and that's the right behavior.
Is the notification of my places free?
Partly. «Excellent conditions» also comes in the free plan, on a forest: the one where you go most often. “It's time” — the one that compares to your good days — and the warning about the storm that has fallen are Premium.
What is the difference between "optimal conditions" and "it's time"?
The first looks at a threshold: the score of that forest has exceeded 70. The second looks at your diary and says that today resembles a day when you really found it there, mentioning the date and the harvest. This is why you need at least two good exits in that place before it can arrive.
What's the point of knowing that it rained if the mushrooms aren't there yet?
That's exactly what it's for. The rain is the trigger: the porcini mushrooms arrive circa due settimane dopo. Knowing it on the day means arriving prepared rather than by chance.
Can I choose which mushrooms to be notified about?
Yes: alerts follow the species you choose to follow, three on the free plan and all sixteen with Premium.
Do notifications consume battery?
No. The check is one per day and takes place on the server, not on the phone: the app does not listen and does not keep the GPS turned on for this reason.
