What you see, and when
When it's still early in your places, today's card adds a line: “Porcini: they're higher up today. Around 1350 m (about 19 km from here) they're worth 46 instead of 21.”
Porcini descend the mountain
It's not a figure of speech: it's a curve. The elevation where porcini are found drops about six hundred meters per month, from August to November.
- August: they are high, and only one finding out of ten is below 900 meters.
- September and October: the good zone descends, week after week.
- November: they are now low, in more sheltered areas.
The experienced mushroom hunter knows this and goes up. Until yesterday, the app showed you a low number without telling you why.
Speaks only when necessary
In the plain it's silent. And it's also silent when your places are already doing well: the line appears only if climbing really changes something. It never sends you more than twenty-five kilometers away.
